Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose, on Sunday 8th october, extended assurance to the underprivileged regarding the 100-day employment scheme (MNREGA) and housing scheme.
During his return to Kolkata from a tour in North Bengal, the Governor expressed his commitment to identifying the underprivileged individuals and engaging with all relevant parties to ensure they benefit from these schemes. This statement holds political significance and follows a meeting between the Trinamool delegation and the Governor on the preceding day.
Responding to queries from journalists, Governor Bose conveyed his intent to engage directly with the underprivileged, listening to their grievances. Following this, he plans to initiate discussions not only with the central government but also with all concerned political parties.
As the Governor makes his way back to Kolkata, there remains uncertainty regarding a potential meeting with Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee, who is staging a protest outside the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.
